Sing it with me now . . . .
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. With new shows premiering and old shows returning, I’m in such good cheer. It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
There’ll be cliffhangers resolving. New characters debuting. And characters who say goodbye. There’ll be dramatic new plot twists, results of big kisses and Parenthood will make me cry.
We’ll see Olivia with her daddy. Ted with his wife. Alicia at her own firm. And I’m sure Scarlett will still make me squirm. So set your DVRs and get ready for the most wonderful time of the year.
Can you tell I’m just a little excited for the new season? I know I haven’t been posting to the TV Gal blog that much but I have been busy writing. Here are some of my stories about the new season.
Here’s my story about Brooklyn Nine-Nine, my favorite new show of the season, for Paste.com.

Here’s my story on the 10 Buzziest New Shows for xFinity.
What new show are you most excited about? (In addition to Brooklyn Nine-Nine, I’m intrigued by CBS’s new show Hostages and have a soft spot for The Goldbergs.) What returning show? (For me that’s Scandal, see photo above). Check out this calendar for a handy of reference for when everything is premiering.
To celebrate the new TV season, I’ll be giving away two prize packs consisting of a Sleep Hollow t-shirt, an Almost Human pen and a Brooklyn Nine-Nine notepad. I’ll pick two winners at random from the comments. (You must live in the U.S. to win). You have until Friday, September 20 to post a comment.
Now get ready for the most wonderful time of the year!
While exciting, the Fall is so overwhelming–there is way too much to watch!
New shows I’m most excited about are actually the ones you mentioned–Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Goldbergs and Hostages–plus Michael J. Fox and The Crazy Ones.
For returning shows, Bob’s Burgers, The Amazing Race, The Walking Dead, The Middle, Modern Family, The Neighbors, The Mindy Project, Parks and Recreation, Parenthood, Elementary and too many more
I agree with Kyle. On Sunday alone I’m already overwhelmed at the number of shows that I either want to watch or really want to watch. I haven’t even started to think of the rest of the days of the week.
The new shows that I am the most excited for are AoS, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Crazy Ones, Almost Human, Mom, Dads (I’ve read the reviews but I’m willing to give it a shot because of Ribisi & Green), Trophy Wife, Michael J. Fox, Masters of Sex, & The Originals. I’m sure I’m missing a dozen or so.
Amy,
Good, bad or otherwise – my ability to really enjoy fall TV – old or new show – is hinging on the first five minutes of “Castle” and Beckett’s response to his proposal.

I am looking forward to the new seasons of Bones, Castle and Parenthood. I am a big Joss Whedon fan, so I am excited about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I just want a decent drama to love. It feels like there hasn’t been a great new one that inspires excessive devotion in ages.
Almost Human for new drama (with Sleepy Hollow and the Blacklist not far behind), Brooklyn Nine-Nine for new comedy, Grey’s Anatomy for returning drama (sue me–even though the show killed Lexie two seasons ago and I almost broke up with it, I can’t quit it), Modern Family for returning comedy. I also agree with wanting to see the first five minutes of Castle more than anything (although it’s really fake drama–let’s face it, she could move to Washington and he could go with her–he’s a writer. He has a laptop. Same thing with Bones–invented drama with the Pelant breaking up the wedding storyline. If there’s one thing I hate more than anything on TV, it’s invented drama.
so excited that you like Brooklyn 99. I have loved Andre since Homicide!
Me too! He’s one of my all time favorite actors.
I’m going to give Brooklyn 911 a chance based on your rec. don’t like Andy samberg, but love Andre.
The comedic chemistry between Andy Samberg and Andre Braugher is pretty great. I can’t wait to hear what you think!
Hi Noreen,
You are a winner! Email me through my contact page so I can get you your prize. Thanks!!

I’m very excited about Castle and looking forward to podcasting about the new season. I also look forward to Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Blacklist and Hostage. In fact 9:00pm (Central) on Monday nights is the always troublesome 3 shows I want to watch problem. I can only record two shows so the Bedroom DVR will have to record one of them for us. Hope that Trophy Wife and the Michael J Fox shows are good. Look forward to reading Amy’s thoughts on the new season as it progresses.
The series premiere of Sleepy Hollow left me, for lack of a better word, hollow. I’m pretty excited for some of the new CW shows, though. Plus, season 2 of Elementary and Revolution should be good.
When does The Americans and Orphan Black come back on? Both of those shows are great!
Not until next spring . . .
Welcome back, Amy!
